Words of wisdom

Well if any of you know me even slightly, then you know I love football. You also may or may not know that I am the head coach for Montcalm's middle school program, and our season will begin in a few days. Now I've heard people say things that have bothered me. Some people are under the impression that the middle school football program can not win. Some say its because of the coaches, who have been accused of not knowing what they're doing. Some say its the players, who just don't know how to win. I say its neither, we can win and we will win. This reminds me of a story I'd like to share with you...

I heard a story about two farmers who desperately needed rain, and both of them prayed for rain. But only one of them went out and prepared his fields to receive it. Which one of them do you think trusted God to send the rain? If you think it was the one who prepared his fields, then you are correct. The true question is, which one are YOU? God will send the rain when he's ready, will you be prepared to receive it?

Now, after hearing that story, I knew what had to be done. You see, last season, our football program was not prepared to receive rain, which is why when it did, we could not catch any of it. And believe me, it did rain, on more than one occasion. This season, we will be prepared for rain. We will get a win, we will prove its not some curse or bad coaching or something wrong with the players. With football, as in life, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD.
